  • Small changes that make a big difference: accessible images, forms, tables, buttons, links and menus
  • A dos and don’ts overview of Flash, JavaScript and PDFs
  • ‘Do It Yourself’ testing tools and techniques
  • How to involve and conduct usability testing with disabled users
  • Are you compliant? Test you own site and create an accessibility action plan to take away!

 

A Guide to Testing and Evaluating Web Accessibility

This Course covers the following topics:

Writing, Editing and Producing Accessible Content

This Course covers the following topics:

  • What is accessibility?
  • The Equality Act 2010 and understanding the obligations of web product/service providers
  • The different types of disability and accessibility requirements
  • Understanding the relevant industry standards (WCAG 2.0, AAA, AA, A, BS8878)
  • How users read a web page differently
  • An overview and demonstration of commonly used access technologies
  • Headings and content hierarchy
  • Labelling: images, maps, graphs and tables, links and buttons
  • The role of Alt tags Vs. Title tags
  • Giving more meaning and context to link text and ‘calls to action’
  • Improve website legibility: white space, fonts and fonts sizes, line length and vocabulary
  • Top tips on providing accessible forms and contextual help
  • Using video and audio content
  • Linking to external sites, documents and PDFs
  • Providing accessibility statements and information

 

Project Managing Accessibility

This Course covers the following Topics:

  • What is accessibility?
  • The Equality Act 2010 and understanding the obligations of web product/service providers

  • Interpreting test results and prioritising fixes
  • Maintaining and communicating accessibility measures post launch

    • Training can be hosted at your own offices or at hired facilities.

  • Capacity

    • A minimum of 4 candidates per course and maximum of 8 is recommended.

    • Our in-house training courses can be customised to use material and examples from your own business, making the training immediately applicable and relevant.AAll courses include comprehensive documentation and checklists.

  • Discounts

    • Inclusive Experience Ltd offers the following discounts on all of its in-house and bespoke accessibility training courses:

    • 10% for referrals from associate companies
    • 15% for charities and non-profit organisations
    • 20% for bulk bookings (2 or more bookings for the same course)
    • 25% for repeat bookings and returning clients

    Discounts are offered on the total price of bookings.
